As you go through this season of fasting, we encourage you to join us every Saturday for a mighty morning of prayer starting Saturday, February 17. The beginning of our fasting journey may be tough, but we are here to support and uplift each other. Join us as we gather in the sanctuary, creating a powerful community of believers. Whether you’re feeling weak, facing temptation, or simply seeking companionship during your 40-day fast, you are welcome! Together, we can overcome any challenge and experience the blessings of faith and unity.

Types of Fast

**Check with your physician before participating in any fast**

The Daniel Fast

Perhaps the most popular fast, the Daniel Fast which consists of all natural food items including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, raw nuts. This fast excludes added sugars, meats, and dairy. 

Liquid Fast

During a liquid fast, you dramatically decrease your caloric intake while staying hydrated with water, juice, or broth. Typically, you should avoid dairy products and solid foods in this type of fast. All natural fruit or vegetable juices are acceptable.

Detox Fast

The Detox fast is designed for you to benefit your spiritual and physical health. With just four simple ingredients, this fast gives your body the calories and energy it needs to make it through the day. The recipe below will make one gallon of the detox.

Personal Fast

This fast helps you to refocus in certain areas of your life by giving up something that hinders you from accomplishing God’s purpose for you. For example, you may give up social media for 40 days and monitor how you re-incorporate it into your life

How do you prepare for a fast?

Step 1 - Remove

Spiritual Preparation
Remove the worry: give everything on your heart to God.

Physical Preparation
Remove all processed foods, alcohol, meat and dairy.

Step 2 - Replace

Spiritual Preparation
Replace the anxiety with daily Scripture, prayer and meditation.

Physical Preparation
Replace your diet with fruits and vegetables, natural juices, water.

Step 3 - Relinquish

Spiritual Preparation
Relinquish any attempt to control situations and submit to the will of God.

Physical Preparation
Relinquish the urge to break your fast with an accountability partner and enjoying a healthy snack.

Preparing your body for a liquid only fast is crucial because it is a radical change for most people.
Day 1 & 2

Cut out processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, meat, dairy and added sugars. Focus on eating raw whole foods, especially fruits and vegetables.

Day 3

Get used to a liquid diet by enjoying smoothies, pureed soups and broths, as well as fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

Day 4

Drink only water and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Add maple syrup as needed for additional calories. Drink
